Jenny Knight

Hi, I’m Jenny, an artist with a passion for capturing the unique personality of your pets. I specialise in creating lifelike portraits from your photos, using coloured pencil to bring my subjects to life.

When not tucked away in my studio, I can often be found exploring the countryside and drawing inspiration from the natural world. My love for animals has been a constant in my life, dating back to my childhood. As a kid, I spent hours drawing from pictures in my wildlife ID books, usually accompanied by my childhood cat. Animals are not just pets to me; they are family.

Despite my early love for art, I suffered a serious blow to my confidence during my GCSEs. The push from the curriculum to create work that wasn’t my passion, and the feedback that I received, led me to quit for three years.

In that time, I turned to horses and photography, earning a level 3 diploma in Equine Management at Merrist Wood and my BHS stage 1. Subsequently, I pursued a degree in Marine & Natural History Photography at Falmouth University. All the while working at a Pony Club riding school, and freelancing as an event photographer, during the holidays.

This journey eventually led me to work for the official photographers at prestigious events such as The Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead, South of England Horse Trials, and The I.C.E. Horseboxes All England Dressage Festival.

Though I love all animals, I have always gravitated towards horses. The girl galloping around the playground and jumping logs would be delighted to learn that I now spend the majority of my days drawing them.

If you're looking for an exquisite, high-quality pet portrait that encapsulates the distinctive character of your furry companion, look no further. Contact me today, and together, let's bring your vision to life!
